New Hot Spot

I take a lot of pride in the neighborhood I live in, the CBD. So much so that I featured it in a blog a few months back. It's the fastest growing neighborhood in NOLA right now, and it just got a whole lot cooler too.

Enter: The Ace Hotel. Now, I should backtrack a bit and say that role of an admission counselor at Tulane sometimes blends a bit with travel agent, as my team and I in the Office of Admission love giving hotel, dining and travel recommendations for your visit to New Orleans. I've got a few hotels that I highly recommend, and the Ace Hotel just went to the top of my list.

The Ace opened last month and joins the small boutique group which has locations in LA, Palm Springs, NYC, Portland, Seattle and Pittsburgh. The new location in NOLA has been getting a great deal of buzz and for good reason. The restaurant is incredible, the rooftop pool is epic and the rooms are contemporary, big and really well appointed. If you are looking for something away from the massive Marriotts, this is your spot. Plus, it's walking distance from the French Quarter but not smack in the middle of it, and you're right on the St. Charles streetcar line. Best part? They are offering a great Tulane discount.
