But what goes on in making those intricate, ornate and beautiful Muses shoes? They are each handmade by Muses riders in the months leading up to when the parade rolls down St. Charles. Our very own Leila Labens, Director of Strategic Recruitment here at Tulane, happens to ride in Muses. This year, the whole Office of Admission chipped in to help craft some of her Muses shoes. Have a look below to see the behind the scenes of Muses shoe making. And tonight, see if you catch one. It means you'll be admitted to Tulane!*
Happy Mardi Gras all, and throw me something, sister!
Step One: get a bunch of (preferably high-heeled) shoes and spray paint them a base layer.
Step Two: make a mimosa (hey, admission counselors can have a little fun, too!)
Step Three: get to work glittering!
Here are Morgan, Lindsey and Sarah hard at work on their shoes.
Leila (our leader) and Paul doing some hot gluing.
