Louisiana- Sportsman's Paradise- PART TWO!

Well no sooner did I hit "post blog" on last weeks blog did the world of Tulane (and New Orleans) sports get turned upside down! Last week sure was big for Tulane sports, specifically football. Last Monday, Tulane announced that it's brand new football coach would be the wide receivers coach of the New Orleans Saints, Curtis Johnson. He's won both a Superbowl with the Saints and an NCAA championship with the Miami Hurricanes. We are pretty pumped to have him on board.

Just when I thought the week couldn't get any better, last Thursday Tulane announced at a major press conference the official plans to build an on-campus football stadium. This has been a much-anticipated event on our campus for years, and the Tulane community is pretty pumped about it. The stadium will be located right behind our current recreation center on the site of our current practice field, and should seat over 30,000 fans. The $60 million stadium is poised to be complete by the 2014 season.

You can read (and see) all about the brand new stadium here.
I also enjoyed this ESPN article all about Curtis Johnson here.

And check out this video, all about the awesome week for Tulane athletics!
